Hello everyone! It's been a week since our first family reunion, and I think I can safely say it was a success, despite the loss of our beloved Wanda. The goal of this event was to get the family together for no other reason other than to be together. As we all get older we move, we make plans, we have kids, we go to work, and we forget to spend time with the people that are most important to us. So we picked a day where everyone could hang out, eat some good food, tell stories, and enjoy each others company.

The two day event started on Friday, June 25th with breakfast at Cracker Barrel. We ate and discussed the plans for the rest of the day and decided a few rounds of bowling were in order. So that night we met at the alley for what we thought would be one, maybe two games. Four hours  and three games later we finally left! We had a blast.

The next day was BBQ day, but plans began changing immediately. Kyle and his girlfriend were in the hospital about to have their baby! Sue decided to stay with them to welcome baby Kamren to the world. The BBQ was set to start at noon, but most of the family didn't start arriving until around one. We fired up the grill and started cookin'. We had planned on maybe four hours, but the last family member drove off just after 8:30 PM. Definite success!

Many of the plans changed through the course of this year. The location was moved from Orlando to Titusville to Delray Beach. The events went from a day at a local park to my house and bowling. And the only family that was able to come were local. But considering this was the first reunion, all went well.

I hope to have as much success next year. We're open to suggestions! Where should the Fontana Family Reunion 2011 be held? When? How long? What should we do? Give us your ideas! Lets see how many family members we can get together. The more the merrier!
